Elfe in conversation with Siegfried Fink from SonnenMoor

Just like Frieda Aigner’s herb garden, the SonnenMoor company with Siegfried Fink is also an institution in Anthering. I invited Sigi to talk to me – and this is what he told me:
Why Anthering Sigi?
Because the family has lived in Anthering since 1963 and this is also where father Franz Fink founded the company. The location is just right – and you feel at home all around. 50% of the employees also live here in the village.
The father has always kept to his path, he started helping people with consultations and herbal tinctures. Of course, he was also ridiculed and even boycotted back then. His stubbornness, his curiosity and his will to pass on the family’s centuries-old knowledge have always driven him on. In 1972, the company SonnenMoor was founded. For Franz Fink, the sun was an important part of the company’s name. The sun is the power from above, without the sun there is no life. Moor is the power from below – and one of the oldest remedies. And herbs need the earth and the sun to thrive.
In 1983, you took over the company and began to show the business. You wanted SonnenMoor to be seen “by the world”.
Today, SonnenMoor offers herbal products and peat products. The valuable drinking cures, creams and teas are available from doctors, therapists, chemists, spas, health retailers and directly from SonnenMoor – in person or online. The new Krämerei not only offers SonnenMoor products, but also gifts from competent, regional suppliers and partners.
The best thing is the feedback from customers who have successfully improved their health. This is a sign of the good work that goes into processing the many herbs into natural healing products and how easy nature makes it for us to stay healthy. Here at SonnenMoor, 80 herbs from Europe are used in production.
Franz Fink already knew that Asian or citrus fruits are not as effective or tolerable for us in Europe as local herbs.
What amazes me is when you say that SonnenMoor has only been available in today’s sales outlets and specialist shops since 2000 (!!!) via the sales force. Before that, the products were only sold to private individuals.
Then things really took off with production – at 5 different production sites throughout Anthering – in 2003 a new building was considered. It was built on 3500 square meters and occupied in 2004! More than 60 employees can develop and build their careers here.
Nobody could have guessed at the time that 14 years later the company would expand again. Anthering can be proud of this company – and so are we.
Your favorite herb is bloodroot. Its anti-inflammatory, balancing effect when used outdoors and indoors is fantastic. The main ingredient in SonnenMoor gargle water is bloodroot. It is difficult to cultivate and therefore expensive. Her preferred herbs also include marigold and yarrow.
SonnenMoor offers products with a purpose – the saying “It won’t help – it won’t hurt” is not applicable here! I am even more convinced of this after the interview! Thank you Sigi for the interview.
See you soon, your elf!
