Querbeat
That was the 6th Night of Music in Anthering
The Querbeat music festival has been taking place in Anthering since 2014 and has since become well established in the town. The event is held every two years. Musicians from Anthering and groups with a connection to the village perform on the village square and in various venues. The aim is to make the musical diversity of Anthering visible and audible – with a deliberate mix of styles, in other words Querbeat. The festival is a good opportunity for restaurants to showcase their establishments. Music groups, in turn, have the opportunity to perform in front of a local audience and present their music to a wide audience.
On Saturday, July 5, 2025, the 6th Night of Music took place in Anthering – louder, more colorful, more surprising than ever! For the 6th time, the center of Anthering was transformed into a big stage. After kicking off with the music band on the village square, the event continued across the town: different locations, different sounds – from rock to traditional, from quiet to rousing. Local gastronomy, familiar locations and unusual corners become the backdrop for an evening full of music, encounters and good food.

QUERBEAT 2025 music groups
Music band Anthering
The Anthering band traditionally opens Querbeat with a festive march-in on the village square – a musical prelude that gives you goosebumps every year. But if you only think of classical brass band music here, you’re in for a surprise: the band combines tradition with modern sounds, so you can look forward to a unique concert in the square.
Church choir with the choir community
The church choir with the choir community under the direction of Waltraud Nagl presents the “Mainz Mass” – a modern work that reinterprets traditional mass parts such as Kyrie, Gloria, Credo and Agnus Dei in a contemporary, sonorous language. The choir is accompanied by Felix Urthaler on piano and Hannes Gappmaier on percussion. A touching musical journey between tradition and modernity.
Musikum Ensembles
Young, talented and full of enthusiasm: thumbs up for the next generation of musicians. Various ensembles from the Musikum present a brief cross-section of their already high musical skills.
Antheringer Böhmische
Formed just a few years ago, the Antheringer Böhmische has already established itself well in and around the town. With a mix of Bohemian classics, modern arrangements, hits and pop, the band shows just how versatile brass music can sound today. Joy of playing, humor and lots of musical skill – no beat is left dry here!
Woody’s Folkhouse
Folk music at its best! The five-piece band around the legendary “Woody” inspires with folk and beat classics from the 60s, Irish folk, American blues and Austro-pop hits. Acoustically arranged songs from Bob Dylan to Neil Young and unusual instruments such as ukulele, bodhrán and dobro!
Sent
The band “Gschickt” takes its audience into a new world of new folk music with a new sound and a special atmosphere. The six musicians have been inspiring German-speaking countries since 2011 and allow their audience to forget everyday life and stress. Their motto “Music connects us” invites you to become part of this musical community.
VocAnth
The mixed choir VocAnth under the direction of Ulli Baumann was founded in 2011. It is particularly pleasing that the choir has developed into a generational choir. The singers enjoy singing across the centuries, from classical choral literature and folk songs to pop and pop music.
With music
Genuine, g’spürig and unadulterated – the Mitanånd Musi brings traditional parlor music to the stage and provides authentic moments of sound that go straight to the heart (and to the dancing legs). This is what living folk music sounds like – in the middle of the village, among us!
Phoenix
Live music with “fœnix” – favorite hits, live and unplugged! Catchy voices paired with musicality and virtuosity characterize the musicians of fœnix. We can expect songs by David Bowie – Tom Petty – Van Morrison – CCR – Eric Clapton – CSNY. The mixture of well-known classics, hidden gems and simple songs is what makes it so appealing.

Surprise Act: DJ Raider
A summer like back then… A DJ that many people in Anthering know – known from the legendary foam parties, among other things – DJ Raider will make Querbeat shake this year! With his beats, he will create real summer vibes and bring the event to a close at the big after-show party in the old fire station. Don’t miss out on this!
Donation boxes
Our guests found donation boxes at every location – small in size, big in impact! The net proceeds of the event went to the Anthering Social Association and now supports people in difficult situations in and from Anthering. Thank you for listening to music with a good heart and donating so generously!
