The Fuchsmühle – a historic craft business with heart
The Fuchsmühle was mentioned in writing as early as 1638 and modernized in 1948 – at that time it was the most modern backfill mill in the entire province of Salzburg. Today it is one of the last of its kind in Europe and has been in the family for generations.
Katharina and Manfred Luginger have been running the mill for over 20 years. Manfred is a trained master grain miller – a profession that requires a great deal of skill, sensitivity and experience. Fortunately, both are passionate about their craft. While Manfred does the milling and bottling, Katharina takes care of sales, advice and everything else that goes with it. A well-coordinated team with real passion.


Regional, down-to-earth and sustainable
The Fuchsmühle only processes Austrian products. The seeds come from the Vienna Basin, and all the leftovers from the milling process are returned directly to the company’s own farm. The Lugingers know every supplier personally – so they can ensure that quality and production meet their expectations exactly.
You notice this care immediately. Many people have been coming back for years because they not only get flour and semolina here, but also honest advice. And if something goes wrong while baking, Katharina is happy to help – by phone or WhatsApp.
Quality instead of expansion
The Fuchsmühle deliberately remains small and familiar. Products are only available in the mill’s own store. In addition to flour, wholemeal flour, semolina and home-baked farmhouse bread, you will also find selected delicacies from regional producers – from honey and wild garlic pesto to liqueurs and pasta.
Tips for your visit to Anthering
Katharina recommends a short discovery tour through the village: start at Nannerl, continue to Restaurant Ammerhauser, a walk through the herb garden, lunch at Kernei’s Mostheurigem, a detour to SonnenMoor, via the Schaukelweg to Café Schmidhuber, finish at Raggei or Voglwirt – and finally enjoy the peace and quiet at Hotel Hammerschmiede.
