About Anthering
The municipality Anthering is located in the northern part of the Salzburg Basin on the edge of the hill country between the Haunsberg and the Hochgitzen. In the west of the municipal area, the Salzach River, surrounded by an extensive landscape, forms the state border between Austria and Germany.
The village lies at 422 m above sea level and the municipality covers 2,530 ha. Currently about 3500 people live in Anthering.
