Excursion tips in the Salzburg region

Hellbrunn Zoo and Water Games
Salzburg Zoo is a special experience for young and old. Thanks to its location on Hellbrunn Hill, it feels as natural as if you were observing the animals in their own environment. The water features round off your excursion perfectly. The guided tours are exciting and really entertaining at the same time. A little tip: don’t sit in the archbishop’s chair.
Salzburg Open-Air Museum Großgmain
If you want to know how our ancestors lived, this is the place for you. In the Großgmain Open-Air Museum, you travel through six centuries and immerse yourself in Salzburg’s rural past.
Untersberg mountain in Grödig
A view that leaves you almost speechless awaits you at the summit of the Untersberg. Whether you take the Untersbergbahn up or choose one of the many hiking trails – the feeling of vastness and freedom will definitely accompany you up there.
Salzburg Lake District
The Salzburg lakes – Obertrumer See, Mattsee and Wallersee – are ideal for cooling off on hot days. You can stroll along the banks, take a bike ride around the lakes or simply sit down by the water and enjoy.
